Mortal Kombat Nightblood RPG - Fandom Friday

May 16th, 2008 by Kali

MK Nightblood

I’ve been meaning to feature Nightblood for quite a few months now, but never quite made it. Hopefully I can do it justice now.

Mortal Kombat Nightblood is a post based RPG set around MK3/4 with the invasion of Earthrealm underway. You can read a better description of the story at the MKNightblood site. The characters include canon characters, original player characters and NPC of both kinds, resulting in an interesting mix that allows for quite a bit of creative freedom.

Nightblood has a lot of quality control. There’s a strict character creation process and players sometimes have to go through several revisions until their original characters can fit into the existing story. In addition, proper grammar, spelling and characterization is demanded, making this RPG for mature (not that kind of mature) players only.

Yours truly has recently taken over the role of Frost and the Lin Kuei are begin to creep their way into the storyline. I find the RPG challenging as a player because there is an established power level for characters (so no having Johnny Cage taking out the Dragon King in one shot) and characters have to work together in order to accomplish things.

All in all, it’s one of the best, if not THE best, MK based roleplays.
